My friend the Beekeeper

On October 10, 2020 I wrote a post titled Can you imagine a world without bees? As promised, here is the sequel to that post.

This story has been close to my heart since 2013. And more so, when I learned that if the bees disappeared off the face of the earth, we will too. In foresight, I believe that we will go first followed by the last hundred bees or so. To be honest, this story was inspiration #1 behind starting this blog Eat Luv Live.

Keeping of bees 🐝🐝🐝 is like the direction of sunbeams.

My colleague & friend Farshid Yazdi has been a beekeeper and organic gardener for the last 30 years and has willingly shared these amazing pics for us honeyeater’s to see. πŸ™‚
A bit of rhyming just ocurred there. I luv where this story is going.

I have known Farshid since 2013 and have been lucky to sample his organic honey on more than one ocassion. My family and friends love it.

Recently, Farshid developed a homemade skin mosituriser made out of pure beeswax and olive oil. My friend and fellow passionate blogger Kiran @ coffeewithjesus.blog has sampled it and thinks it is amazing, and so do my family.

I find Farshid’s 30 year journey truly notable. Its amazing to know that he is helping save our planet and protect our species by patiently toiling the hives as a responsible beekeeper in a nondescript suburban backyard.

Now, that is purpose.

Hmm, that sounds like an interesting blog post title. 😁

Did you know?

  • To get more bees in your garden grow more colour.
  • Bees love blue and love cluster plants like lavender and rosemary.
  • To produce a kilogram of honey, bees fly the equivalent of three times around the world in air miles.
  • Honey has been shown to have many health benefits both when eaten and when applied to the skin. The darker the honey the better.
  • A bee produces a teaspoon of honey (about 5 grams) in her lifetime.
  • All worker bees are female.
  • Bees don’t want to sting you because they die.

And finally the good news. Farshid is happy to share his organic goodness with readers of Eat Luv Live. Honey will be available early next year 2021 so I’m taking orders starting today. However, I currently have free samples of the skin moisturiser for the first five readers who comment on this post.
